I finally finished "Life on Mars" yesterday, and I grinned like a fool for the final fifteen minutes. It may be the first time in my life that an ending such as that made me smile.
I enjoyed the first episode of "Ashes to Ashes" and think that the way they played with the formula will work really well. I will say, however, that I am so sick and tired of female protagonists having to deal with any combination of the following:
a. A child.
b. An ex-husband.
c. Something traumatizing happening to the child.
d. An important date causing the major emotional moments to be even MORE TRAGIC.
( I carry on briefly, with some spoilers )
Let it be known, my issues with Alex's origin into 1981 aside, I really do like the show so far. And, damnit, but Gene is possibly sexier than before. I think it's the black coat.
