Things that are not making me wish I could gouge out my eyes

--The Guy/Kyle table I created for the [livejournal.com profile] dcu_freeforall has started to bear fruit. I wrote a really fun piece when I was supposed to be caring in Bio. But, seriously, it's Bio. I have a book. I have my notes. I really am trying to care as much as possible.

--I've got a couple different L&O pieces in the pipeline. One's a post-ep for 19.11. One's a non-post-ep. One's a post-ep for 19.12, and if I can get the idea to solidify for the post-ep for 19.10, I'd be a happy bunny.

--No, I do not mean to post-ep the whole season, but seriously, have you seen this season?

--To get the taste of "Crappy Sparkly Vampire Book" out of my mouth, I am re-reading "Watchmen". And, flist, seriously, if you've never read "Watchmen", I really do think you should give it a try. It's a fantastic story. If you see the movie first, that's cool too. Just get familiar with it. I really do think it's that good.

--I just realized I've not so much as glanced at the "Tin Man" fic of DOOM in weeks. [livejournal.com profile] lasergirl, have you so much as glanced at the fic? There is no penalty for not glancing, as I haven't done so, you know?

--I kinda want to write stuff for fandoms I don't write for anymore. Just little bits and pieces, you know? Round out the current collection of comics/L&O/comics that I'm running. If I decide to go that route, I'll make a post to let you folks throw out options.

--Oh, look! A poll!

omg! haven't glanced. In fact, haven't really swapped stuff from old computer to New Overlord yet and am living in the limbo in between.

Probably won't get a chance, either, for at least uhmmmm a week or two. There are two reading weeks at two institutions (for whom I am working) so I get two weeks of only working on one project at a time. Hopefully then I can? I don't know.

I'm sort of booking time in April for personal time. But then I'm doing an opera in May and possibly going to China so.... hahahahaha.

My semester is a speeding train, so I probably won't even notice that I haven't worked on it for another couple of months. Next time I think about it I'll give you a ping.

I don't pay attention in Bio either, it's just not an interesting class. But when you miss two days and a test you're pretty much screwed.

Anyway, save yourself now. The plot will lessen and it won't get better. Twilight isn't something you need to subject yourself to.

And Watchmen is amazing, and the movie looks incredible, and I'm super excited. While I was supposed to be running lights for the school play I read Watchmen instead, let's just say I missed a cue or 10.

The problem is, I like arguing from an informed perspective, and that's for everything. Including terrible, terrible, terrible tripe like "Twilight".

The first time I read "Watchmen" I was absolutely in love with the story and didn't read any of the excerpts that came in the trade. And now, as I'm reading again, I'm reading the excerpts and falling in love all over again.

Once, in the Distant Past of Crappy X-Files Fanfiction, I really did intend to post-ep a whole season.

...it was Scully/Doggett fiction which, um, yeah. Canon reared its ugly head. ;-)

[identity profile] perpet-fic.livejournal.com 2009-02-11 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, but Scully/Doggett intrigues me. Partly because Robert Patrick was the Terminator 2.0, and I was always waiting to hear he'd formed a sword and sliced off some alien's head.

My brain is weird.
