The Serenity reference is actually a Serenity-bloopers reference. It's where Scotty's cursing at the power realy. The way in which he organizes his use of "fuck" is as close as I can get to reproducing Gina Torres saying the same string of "fuck" in the bloopers, then looking at Nathan Fillion and saying, "and now I sound like you." So, incredibly esoteric, but still Serenity-based.
