My sister and one of her friends has read it, and from the way my sister talked, I kept thinking that the part where Bella moves to Forks would've lasted longer? Given that she's a lot whinier and more self-important in the books than in the movie?
I mean, don't get me wrong, she's still whiny and self-important in the movie, but it seemed more tolerable somehow? The very overt COV stuff (how bad is it that I typed "cow" first?) wasn't really there, but there were some vague COV moments. I'd have to see it again, but I dunno if I want to.
While I applaud Meyer for breaking out of the vampire = dead corpse mold, I really wish she hadn't made them sparkle.
It's hard to take a vampire seriously if they sparkle in sunlight. No, rly.
I think one of the things that I kept scratching my head over (in the movie) was that every day was vaguely cloudy, but not "omg, no sun", and as a result, I kept waiting for Glitterpire all over the place, and alas! Not so.
