I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much, and I'm happy it helped you burn some time on leave. :)

I'd always liked the idea of Neville/Snape, but it wasn't until Neville went full backbone in book 7 that I went, "And there's the guy who'd stand up to Snape". And off I went.
