Delurking for a second to say that I just had a similar crisis ("Ok . . . I think I CAN live off $12 for four weeks, it'll just suck") that was fortunately resolved. I gave what I could, though it isn't much, but I love the work you do (and a lot of it isn't even in my fandoms!) and I've certainly spent (and regretted spending!) money on published stuff that isn't half as good as what you do.
