AND KYLE GOT TO SAVE GUY!!!!!!

YES! Sort of twice, even: Catching him and then cleansing him. <3

Oh, god, Mogo. I mean, John had no other choice (and I love that the writing was good enough that you could see that, but OH GOD MOGO.

When they brought up the corruption of the Black Rings, I was so impressed that they brought that element back in...and then they broke my heart. I have to wonder if this is what Kyle's broken mask at John's feet on that one cover means, if they're referencing the damage to their relationship that we've seen here, and earlier when they were possessed by Parallax, too.

That does make sense, too. Kyle has never been as militaristic as the others, and I suspect that accepting that hard decisions had to be made is a very separate thing from being able to live with those decisions, being in the Corps afterward, even when they weren't his decisions.

I just worry when we'll next see Kyle if he does leave. If he can't be a GL for awhile, I actually hope he goes back to the blue ring. I think it actually suited him pretty well, and I can see him wanting to spread some hope around.

I may end up writing an AU in which he takes up a blue ring and runs around with Guy regardless of how the event ties up, but we'll see.

Oh, I have a balls out alternate theory where he takes up Mogo's place, taking charge of sending out the rings, except that he takes the Blue Lantern approach and goes to each possible Lantern separately. He sits down with them and talks with them and once he feels they're a fit, he offers them the ring.

Ooooh, I like that theory! The problem is, I don't know that that kind of way of handling things could keep up with demand. I mean, there are 7200 Lanterns (or, there are supposed to be; it'll be interesting seeing how they handle the bads that possessed!Mogo inducted into the Corps). What does he do if they lose a bunch in a big battle and he needs 30 recruits right now?

I'm all about Kyle going blue as well, but I do wonder how they'll make it work if he can super power the others for anything.

Yeah, it does turn into a deus ex machina. "We don't have enough power!" "No worries, let me just ring up Kyle..."
