Here, Tribble, Tribble, Tribble
Aug. 5th, 2004 11:37 pmYou know that bitching I do about how all my Plot Tribbles keep multiplying and are on an insane mission to make my head explode?
I take it back.
I take it all back.
I really mean it.
I'm sending roses to the Tribbles in my head.
Because I can't fucking find them.
I can't call it writer's block because I *am* writing. I'm working on a new novel that takes place after my NaNo from last year, and I wrote 6 1/2 pages of observations while sitting at Bread Co. the other day, so it's not really writer's block. It's...
It's fannish block.
I can write original stuff, but the fannish stuff just won't come.
And that sucks.
Maybe this is a hint from Tribbles that it's time to focus on just one piece, or perhaps even start *typing* up a few of my pieces. Hmmm...I'll sit down with the big notebook 'o' slash and see what's there. Maybe I just need to work on something that's been horribly neglected.
Like that Oliver/Percy
Or that Draco/Ron
Or the conversion of that "District" piece to a "Without a Trace" piece
Or finish the first date story of Josh and Kenny
Or finish the Snape/OFC (finally)
Or tweak the rest of "Lunatic Brit"
Or add to the Woody/Bug
Or the Woody/Nigel
Or the Garrett/Peter
Or the Danny/Martin
Or the Chakotay/Tom
Or that Monk/Disher
Or that Percy/Snape
Or that Chloe/Lex (from first season, no less)
I could start on a new project, I suppose. Maybe try my hand at that Stargate/West Wing crossover I've been eyeing for months (Daniel/Jack, Leo/Sam).
Or there's that HP/WW crossover that I think was supposed to be part of
julianlee's holiday slash wishlist from about two years ago.
I never did finish my essay on Lord John Marbury
Or start that Archie/Saul
Or the Julian/Garak
Or the Aramis/Porthos, Athos/Dartanyen
Or that Daniel/Maj. Davis.
You know what, I can't decide. Maybe that's my problem. So, let me put it to a vote. Look at all the stuff that's in progress and choose a story. We'll see if I can get anywhere with it.
Thank you, that ends this week's moment of indecision. Have a nice night. Get your parking validated.

on 2004-08-09 10:47 am (UTC)While I have a really big weakness for good Percy/Snape, after last night's ep of Crossing Jordan with Nigel in the eyeliner *cue lust induced brain freeze* it would be great to see some Woody/Nigel.

on 2004-08-16 01:56 pm (UTC)WW is about to jump a whole friggin' line of sharks. I see it on the horizon. Slashfic may be all that allows me to maintain my faith in that once-glorious institution.
Of course, this happens after you finish my birthday fic.
P.S. Thank you, my dear, a billion & a half times over for reccing "5 Ways." Made my day.
