Call me foolishly optimistic, but I like to think that people are not only aware of the things that can happen due to sexual promiscuity, but that they're not so stupid as to allow themselves to think, "Hey, they didn't get an STD in a porno, so I won't get one in real life!"
And I know that you're talking about the sexual promiscuity in fandom, and to that I just have to say: it's fuckin' fantasy. If someone can't read a story and realize that Harry having sex with half of Hogwarts and a Hippogriff couldn't lead to a few STDs, then they need more help than locking up the evil, evil fandom porn can do for them.
Sexual expression is a right, not a God-given or God-defined gift
Wait a minute, you're telling me sexual expression *isn't* a right? Says who? You? When did you get to start defining such things? And when did you get so perfect that you could deem sexual expression as a god-given or god-defined gift? I don't recall anyone telling me that you'd become some divine deity that could tell me *what* my sexual expression was or how it could be *used*. Or that it isn't my *right* to use it as I see fit. You know what, I live a perfectly happy, granola-munching life even when there are porn images in my head. I can have full discussions about important things in my life without worrying that the porn ideas are going to burst forward and ruin my arguement. I can think about nekkid people in dirty, dirty positions and still go on like a sane person in society because I recognize that there is a time and place to think of porn and there is a time and place not to.
