Hit 50k on the NaNo last night, and I did it by staying up until nearly 3. I'm kind of an idiot.

Also, the 50k mark is not the completion mark as it has been for previous NaNos. It appears to be the moment of first major catalyst, so yeah. There's that.

Yeah, like this was ever going to be over in 50K. That's barely novel territory if you're telling the kind of story you're telling.

I am being picky about my first few pages. That's how I am. Feels like a mess, but it's more of a start than I've made on anything else, and it's leading me down a good road where structure is concerned. Funny how saying the words aloud to Darling Man -- "I'm going for a B.F.A." -- put me in such a different frame of mind.

I'd like to print up business cards and give them out to my favorite writers: Editor For Hire. Give me your poor, your unread, your typo-ridden manuscripts. I could wield a red pen for a living, or perhaps a viridian pen. I like bright Slytherin green.

I'd like to make a buck on the side, is what!

I think you would get down right gleeful in a tech writing program. Make money tearing other people's work to pieces. It's fun!

If you've a touch of time today, the final version of the paper should be ready for your lovely green pen in an hour or so. I'm being a bad kid and playing hooky from one of my classes because I'm just blah today.
