A Brief Catch-Up Post
Aug. 2nd, 2010 10:05 pmAs this list requires no particular order, you get my lazy version of bullet points:
--After much prodding by
shoshannagold, I am finally watching "Generation Kill." I was not against watching the show at all; it was a matter of going, "Oh, I should watch it," and then forgetting about it for months at a time. What finally got me to go, "HOLY SHIT YES WATCH NOW"? David Simon wrote and produced it. Which, HELL YES. I've only finished the first episode, and I want to hug every single guy who isn't Captain America (nickname for one of the officers) and Mr. Potato Head. How we went to war without proper prep, I do not know, but someone needs to kick someone in the balls.
--That being said, allow me to be shallow: Y HALO THAR PRETTY BOYS. Seriously. Holy crap. Hotness. It does not take away from the drama or the seriousness, but damn, if it's not a nice touch. Also, I like Alexander Skasgard (probably butchered that) with the crew cut more than the hair he's sporting now.
--I meant to sit down and work on the HSAU today and got distracted first by GK and then by "Mad Men," and then I sat down and read another 60 pages of 1984. That's right: Rather than write by wonderfully angsty but hopeful high school boy love story, I put in time with a massive downer novel. Nerd? That's me.
--My hair is pink. Proof of this will be seen in this week's WBoA. Topic of the WBoA is not yet chosen. Feel free to pitch an idea. Or have me answer a question.
--We're sharing a non-wireless internet connection while The Husband and I camp out and wait for our big move, so I probably won't be as active overall as I usually am. If you want to touch base, drop me a PM or an e-mail or a tweet or some other type of gizmo-induced message.

on 2010-08-03 03:12 am (UTC)Brad is just damned cool. I love when he told the reporter to quit scribbling because it just encourages Ray. He's not mad, and he's not even impatient; he just knows Ray.
I get the feeling Nate's gonna have to put up with a LOT from his guys. I can't WAIT.

on 2010-08-03 03:18 am (UTC)Yeah, poor Nate. His 'I'm suffering quietly but I'm also amused' face gets thrown around quite a bit...
