'Cause she begged so nicely last night.
He watches Dom run around with the girls and can't help beaming. He's happier than he's been in a long time. Having the movies behind him helps. Knowing that people want him for other jobs, that they want Dom for other jobs, that they want Dom for a series, helps a lot. He supposes his own success should help his mood more, but love is a silly thing that makes you want more happiness for the person you're with than for yourself.
Which is why, he supposes, that he finally confirmed all of Christine's suspicions and offered to take full fault for the divorce if questions were asked. He loves her as the mother of his children, and as the first woman he ever fell for, but the love he needs to be able to sustain their marriage has changed into something else over time. Christine, upstanding person that she is, isn't letting him take any blame at all. She even smiles as she stands next to him watching Dom play with their girls, and when she presses the divorce papers into his hand, her smile doesn't falter.
"Be good to yourself, Sean."
He brushes her hair off her face, but there's nothing romantic about it for either of them. "You too, Chris."
"Be good to him."
He looks over just in time to see the girls tackle Dom around the knees and send him flying onto his back. Dom shouts for help. "I will." He squeezes her shoulder and shoves the papers in his back pocket as he jogs across the yard to untangle Dom from the kids. He kisses Dom on the nose when he's upright again.
"You missed." Dom's all cheek as he brushes dead grass from his hair.
Sean tugs on Dom's left ear and pecks him on the mouth. "Not even a little bit."
