“Larry?”
“Yes, Charles?”
“No one has any idea what you’re talking about anymore.”
He has, apparently, broken his promise before he’s finished making it. “My apologies.”
Mrs. Eppes smiles. “No, it’s fascinating. Even if I don’t have any idea what you’re saying.”
Under the table, Charlie squeezes his hand. She has found him worthy.
