Okay, this is just getting ridiculous.

The MASH fic is now 18 pages and 8200+ words long. 2200 words alone have been written today. And I'm not even sure Hawkeye sounds right.
distaff_exile should get a pony for all the beta work she's doing, and you lot should get ponies for getting updates on this thing and no actual fic at all.
“You are not allowed to use any medical terminology in this conversation, Beej. This isn’t a medical problem. It is what it is.”
“For Erin or for us?”
There’s a pause, heavy with the weight of everything they’ve avoided saying for so very long. BJ stares at the wall, notices a scratch he hasn’t seen before. He wonders what Hawkeye’s staring at all the way across the country.
“Beej,” it’s Hawkeye’s soft voice, the one he always used back in Korea to talk BJ down from the high, windy places in his mind. “We’re not supposed to talk about it. It’s better if we don’t talk about it.”
“Why?”
“Because you have a wife and three kids.”
It feels like a brick has landed in BJ’s stomach. He can’t breathe for a minute. “Hawk-“
“We don’t talk about it, BJ.” And Hawkeye hangs up the phone.
And if you think that brings the angst, you ain't seen nothin'.

"The 3 things Warrick Brown didn't do..." (Nick/Warrick, post-GD) was something different, and just as heart-breaking. Especially the last segment. Amazing how you do it when we don't even see Nick, just the worry and stress Warrick builds up. Breath-taking.
Fics these unforgettable deserves due credit (even if my comment is overdue by 2 years). Here's hoping you'll get back to writing CSI! And if you do write more Nick stuff, a good place for fanfic appreciation is the lj comm oh_no_nicky (http://community.livejournal.com/oh_no_nicky/)
