My squicks are few and far between

But apparently domestic violence is one of them. Someone in newtrekslash posted a McCoy/Chekov fic that's about McCoy hitting Chekov when he's drunk. And Chekov staying around because...well, I didn't read the fic, but the options were all right on the ball for most of the reasons people stay with abusive partners [he's nice when he's sober, he says he sorry, he loves him, and so on]. Apparently, the story got written for a kink meme, and I'm a little surprised to find that someone considers domestic violence a kink.

I'm also a little surprised that I'm a little surprised. One person's squick is another person kicks, as the rule usually goes. Fuck knows I've a list of kinks that I find hot in fic that other people steer away from.

So, congrats, writer of this McCoy/Chekov domestic violence story, for making me squick. It takes a lot.

Granted, yeah, there's a lot of stuff on the kink meme that I would never really think of as a kink (usually because I tend to think of "kink" as being sexual in nature), and very few of stuff like blindfolds or BDSM or whatever.

But, yeah, what? :(

I can't get around McCoy/Chekov. Kirk/McCoy, sign me up, but for some reason, I can't see M/C...
