Untitled CJ/Big Bird Crack!Fic
West Wing
Minor Spoilers for "Eppur Si Muove"
PG [sorry
writerpuppy, my brain wouldn't do smut.].
Requested by
writerpuppy for the Valentine's Day challenge. Evil girl.
CJ finds love on the street.
He's quite the conversationalist when the cameras stop, and he can use large words at will. CJ's not sure how to handle the fact that he greeted her with "And how do you think the economy is going to flux when the new President takes office?", but she has to admit that after a few minutes she forgets completely that she's talking to a huge yellow bird.
They sit in her office, she in her chair, he on the couch with his feet out in front of him, and they talk. He tells her a long, involved story about a trip to Tahiti he and Snuffalupagus took during hiatus one year. She asks him about Jim Henson, and he smiles and looks a little sad and admits to missing Kermit.
"He came back to cover Slimey going into space, but he didn't stay. He and Jim were best friends. He just can't stand to be on that set. The death really hit him hard."
It makes CJ ask about Mr. Hooper. Big Bird smiles, and it's very different than the smile for Mr. Henson. "He would have really appreciated the way we handled his death. He always thought it was important to explain the hard stuff to kids."
Before CJ knows exactly what she's doing, she asks Big Bird out for a cup of non-government coffee and a muffin. Big Bird agrees, and they end up at a coffee shop down the street. CJ gets black coffee and a small stack of blueberry scones. Big Bird gets a large glass of water and a muffin scattered with sesame seeds.
"It's such a cliche'," Big Bird says as he dips his beak into his cup. CJ smiles at him and picks up their conversation from her office.
They talk until the coffee shop closes, and then Big Bird insists on seeing her home. "It's the nice thing to do." CJ can't help but blush and lets him walk her to her door. She likes the slow, comfortable way he walks, the way his feathers brush on her arm. When they get to her door, she invites him in.
"I can't. I have to be up early." Big Bird smiles, pecks her on the cheek, and gives her his phone number in New York.
CJ memorizes the number before she goes to bed.

on 2005-02-08 12:55 am (UTC)[And this is easier because it's completely cracked out. As for your "Bueller" fic, I see pain and angst. I'll have it done by March 1 or you can yank my "Bitch" subscription.
