Question for comic nerds with iPads

perpetual_motionDoes anyone know exactly how the apps for Marvel and DC work? For example, if I get the Marvel app, and then buy "Invincible Iron Man," does the issue of IIM get downloaded to my iPad, or is it saved off-site on a server somewhere?
The Husband and I are currently in talks with what to do with all the money we'd have spent at comic con (one last post on that hot mess coming soon), and I love shiny toys that do weird shit, so I'm kinda salivating over an iPad. Right now, I'm trying to decide on what size to get, and if comics don't download to the iPad, I think I can get a 16 gig instead of a 32 gig and have some money to put towards apps and other goofiness. Outside of comics, I plan to use it for note-taking and deadline keeping in class, but I don't have plans to do any huge sorts of things on it.
Which has now prompted a follow-up: If you are a comic nerd with an iPad or know a comic nerd with an iPad, what size do you recommend? Or, in general, if you have an iPad, what size do you recommend?

on 2010-12-07 04:24 am (UTC)I use a comic book reader and .cbrs, I have never used the digital comic apps, only offloaded files from my computer. I could tell you the name of the reader when I get back to my ipad - I left it at home this xmas so my mom didn't punch me in the head.
OH MY GOD I just remembered about my tattoo... tomorrow might be fun.
