A metamorphosis
Mar. 23rd, 2004 09:05 pmAnd I think I spelled that completely wrong.
Would someone please tell me when I went from being a fandom whore to being a FANDOM HOR?
I am now writing a Peter/Garrett "Crossing Jordan" piece, and a "Horatio Hornblower" piece.
Oh, and let's not forget the dirty thoughts I had about Ed and Danny on "Las Vegas" last night.
Or the multiple story ideas I got watching "Scrubs" last week.
Or the four hundred *other* fics in *other* fandoms of *other* pairings I have lying around.
I used to be a one or two fandom girl. When did it get like this?
Off to read themassively shitty gen fic I used to write before I wrote porn manlove slash.

But to see slash takes a subtler eye, and it's fun, trying to outwit the writers at their own subtextual game. So you watch a show or a movie or read a book and say, 'OK. Where is the homoeroticism today?' And that's when you realize: slash is everywhere. So revel in it!
I think Shrift said it best: "I mean, I used to be this girl with one fandom, and then -- WHAM! Slash! And WHAM! 8 more fandoms! And WHAM! I'm suddenly a crackhead!"
