And I think I spelled that completely wrong.

Would someone please tell me when I went from being a fandom whore to being a FANDOM HOR?

I am now writing a Peter/Garrett "Crossing Jordan" piece, and a "Horatio Hornblower" piece.

Oh, and let's not forget the dirty thoughts I had about Ed and Danny on "Las Vegas" last night.

Or the multiple story ideas I got watching "Scrubs" last week.

Or the four hundred *other* fics in *other* fandoms of *other* pairings I have lying around.

I used to be a one or two fandom girl. When did it get like this?

Off to read the massively shitty gen fic I used to write before I wrote porn manlove slash.

OMG, do you like Miguel Ferrer too???

Wait, that wasn't the subject.

You've not been to a con until you've sat up all night, in a room full of women, usually in the dark, making up bad slash fiction based on ANY two male media characters you can think of.

Yes, My Mother The Car has been done... and Mr. Ed.

I lust after men twice my age. Extra points if they're bald or balding. (I have had crushes on Paul Ben-Victor, Paul McCrane, John M. Jackson, and Miguel Ferrer.)

And I don't know if knowing there is "Mr. Ed" slash scares me more or less.

A con, a con, my kingdom for a con! (Never been to one. Would *love* to go.)

I am SO looking forward to MediaWest this year--we're hosting the LOTR party, and I'm determined to have a cake in honour of Serena's 65th.

I'll tell you when it happened, my friend. It happened the day you looked around & realized that the media is EXCEPTIONALLY GAY. As my friend's friend's grandmother says, "The gays are infiltrating the arts." It's true. We are, & we're queering EVERYTHING. Seriously. The slash pairings I've seen in this head of mine would turn you green - and I mean green with nausea, not envy.

And then it becomes a game. It's easy to spot the het 'ships, because it's what the writers *want* us to see. But to see slash takes a subtler eye, and it's fun, trying to outwit the writers at their own subtextual game. So you watch a show or a movie or read a book and say, 'OK. Where is the homoeroticism today?' And that's when you realize: slash is everywhere. So revel in it!

I think Shrift said it best: "I mean, I used to be this girl with one fandom, and then -- WHAM! Slash! And WHAM! 8 more fandoms! And WHAM! I'm suddenly a crackhead!"
