impulsedriven. It's just nice to write something. Also, I need to remember to start watching Numb3rs again. I've been slacking. I'm a terrible person.
Spinny
By Perpetual Motion
He spins around with his arms out and his head tilted up. He hears laughter from somewhere around him, but he doesn’t want to stop spinning to recognize it. It’s a hand firmly clamped on his shoulder that finally stops his momentum.
“Charlie, what are you doing?” Don looks a little amused and a little worried. Charlie has to remind himself that Don’s never seen him like this. He wasn’t a spinny kid. He was a kid with chalk in his hand and ink on his fingers. He didn’t spin as a kid. He thinks that maybe it’s because he wasn’t a particularly happy child. He spent too much time trying to calculate how different he was from the other kids to ever really allow himself a childhood. “Charlie, are you okay?” He realizes that he’s said nothing in the two point three minutes since Don’s stopped his spinning.
“I’m great.” Charlie feels the smile that stretches his face. He steps away from Don and spins around again. “Just happy.”
“About *what*?” Obviously, Don is still confused.
Charlie shrugs. “Stuff.” He spins again and concentrates on the memory of the warm feeling in his stomach that he got when Larry stammered out a ‘yes’ to his invitation to dinner.
