Stepping Forward
By Perpetual Motion
When Josh kisses him, soaking wet in Sam’s office as Sam packs up his things, Sam doesn’t know what to do. This *thing* that’s been between them for all their friendly years isn’t supposed to come up to the forefront. There’s Lisa. There’s Josh’s women, and there’s this other *thing* they’re getting ready to do. This election. They’re going to put a deserved man into the White House. So this damp, rain-tasting kiss, this physical manifestation of their *thing*, shouldn’t be happening.
But then, Sam abandoning the firm and New York and Lisa shouldn’t be happening either. He kisses back.
