[livejournal.com profile] fandom_scruples wants to throw us all in prison. This is from the LJ:

To those who might not know it, Child Online Protection Act (COPA) was passed on Oct. 21, 1998. The Act makes it a federal crime to use the World Wide Web to distribute "for commercial purposes" material considered "harmful to minors," with penalties of up to $150,000 for each day of violation and up to six months in prison.

While I admire what they're doing in terms of trying to keep kids from seeing obscene material, I have to make a face at them.

Fan fiction isn't done "for commercial purposes". That implies we get paid. Which we don't. Or that we charge people to read our fic. Which we don't. If the websites they want to report are fic websites, do they really have a case?

Also, I don't trust anyone not willing to take a few on the chin for the cause, and they have no comment section. It's all a bit hinky to me.

Okay, I'm going to put a challenge to myself, and you get to pick the fandoms/pairings!

I give you a list of my fandoms:

Lots of fandoms to choose from. )

Now, what you do is pick your fandom and pick your pairing, and I'll write you a fic.

For those wondering why I don't have my RPS listed, it's because I have enough ideas already. It's the rest of the stuff I'd like to write on.

So, what would you like to see?
