Luckily, someone else did it for me.
And if you can read that and not like Guy Gardner, you are a soulless monster, and my icon would like a word with you. I actually didn't know some of this about Guy. I knew he'd been brain-damaged, but my JLI reading is shaky, at best, so I didn't know all of it. What I did know is that Guy is an ass-kicker and a name-taker and one of those hard-shell-on-the-outside-squishy-on-the-inside types. And I loved him. But the post I linked above gives me a whole new level to love.
Guy Gardner is cooler than you. Live with it.

on 2009-11-06 05:22 pm (UTC)The magazine thing, and the brain-damage thing is a very interesting, compelling situation. There's a similar thing that happened IRL fandom, with Richard hammond after his infamous jetcar crash a couple of years ago. he had MASSIVE brain trauma and recovered, though it's taken him about the full two years to do so. Part of his own self-dictated therapy included doing lots and lots of lego.
So that is actually a fairly believable scenario for someone, particularly a smart superhero (who, of course, I know next to nothing about, but I thought I should say something about how cool an idea that is to begin with.)
So.

on 2009-11-06 10:14 pm (UTC)It is a cool idea, especially since Guy fixing his brain through sheer force of will showcases why he's such an awesome Green Lantern (it's all about the will, baby).
And, also, it's why I love the TG boys. Richard stops a car with his head, works his ass off to get better, and Jeremy will not apologize for leaving a message on his phone that was, basically, "you better not be dead." <3 <3 <3
