I crochet a lot. I mean a *lot*. I have going right now, two scarves, an afghan, and enough yarn to make two more scarves and a kicky little Christmas stocking.

But what the hell does this mean in fandom?

In means I want to make someone crochet. Just because I'm a nerd like that.
So, knowing my fandoms as you do, who is the most likely to crochet?
Who is least likely?
Am I psycho?

TOTALLY what I was going to say. I could see Nigel crocheting Bug copious amounts of socks and blankets and other stuff when he's bored and it's the winter. Hell, maybe he can even crochet a new Big Ass Purse for Bug to replace the old one.

Bug, on the other hand, would NOT CROCHET because, his sleeping with Nigel be damned, Bug would not affront his own masculinity that way. But Nigel would still probably want to teach him. Just for the sake of it teaching him, you know?

In other fandoms... Hmm. I love the mental picture of Nick crotcheting, but I think that's just for mental comedies' sake. Because Texan boys do not crochet.

I absolutely second this.

In fact, Nigel would not only crochet, but he'd do a damned fine job of it. And yes, Bug would sooner eat the needle and yarn.

It would be some high-quality crocheting. Everyone would get blankets for their birthdays and Christmas. Hehe.

Nigel! And, um, Saul. Munch. House. Briscoe.

As for not- I couldn't see Jordan doing it, or Stabler, or McCoy... um, or Archie. Or Bug. Though I'd bet he knows how to sew. I could see Lily crocheting, too.

1. The men of Sacred Heart. J.D. crochets because, well, he's J.D. One night, Turk's at his place, bored, finds J.D.'s secret stash o'yarn, and starts doing it, too. He gets hung up on a stich or a pattern - a triple-double, a shell - and becomes obsessed with getting it right. Any time he's not in surgery, he's crocheting. The other guys see him doing it, and because he's Turk, they think it's the new manly thing to do. Now all the guys are wandering the halls doing it: Ted, the janitor, the Todd, Hooch. Eliot & Carla want in, too, but Turk and J.D. tell them it's a guy thing. Cox goes crazy, because his hospital is overrun with girl-men. But there's some incident - Turk leaves a hook in a patient; Doug uses the toes of the corpses to hold his yarn - and it falls out of favor, only J.D. soldiering on.

2. I support all who suggested Nigel.

3. I second [livejournal.com profile] sparrowinsky's vote for Munch, with the caveat that he'd do it badly. He develops an ulcer, or stress-related migraines, and his department-appointed shrink (Huang, the sadistic fuck) suggests crochet as a relaxation technique. So now every time Munch starts to feel stressed, he reaches for his yarn - even at work. Which of course he takes no end of shit for.

4. I picture CJ crocheting badly. She declares herself sick of politics and goes into semi-retirement. After 3 months she's sick of it, but she won't tell anyone that. Toby goes to visit, and there CJ sits on her front porch.

TOBY: What the hell are you doing?
CJ: I'm crocheting, Toby. I'm crocheting an afghan. It's relaxing. It's what my grandmother did when she retired; it's what my sisters-in-law do when their kids are asleep...so I'm crocheting an afghan.
TOBY: It looks like a sheep about six months overdue for a shearing.
CJ: Know a lot about sheep-shearing, do you?
TOBY: CJ. Seriously. What are you doing?
CJ: I'm croche--
TOBY: Crocheting. I heard. You don't belong...wherever the hell we are, doing...whatever the hell you're doing.
CJ: My grandmother--
TOBY: I met your grandmother, CJ. You need to come home now.

5. Who wouldn't? Macy. Woody. Josh. Leo. Draco and Lucius. Danny Taylor does not crochet.

You konw what I love about you?

When I ask a quick question, you come up with five *excellent* answers, and you even put in awesome dialogue.

I think I may write the "Scrubs" piece now. I think you get the CJ piece.
